8. Storage and security of your data Leeds Hospitals Charity employs appropriate technical measures to keep your data safe. This includes encrypting our online forms, routinely monitoring the network, using industry standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates (a type of digital certificate that provides authentication for a website and enables an encrypted connection), and ensuring our hosting provider is PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant. Most of our information technology is managed internally and subject to our policies and security. Leeds Hospitals Charity’ data and backups are encrypted and securely stored within Microsoft UK DataCentres. Leeds Hospitals Charity have a Data Processing and Sharing Agreement to ensure appropriate security and controls are in place to protect the data processed on behalf of Leeds Hospitals Charity. When we use other external companies to collect or process your data on our behalf, we undertake due diligence before agreeing to engage with them and our contracts will include appropriate data security controls. Whilst we take steps to keep your data safe, including implementing appropriate access controls, investing in the latest Information Security Capabilities to protect the IT environments we leverage, and ensuring we encrypt, personal data wherever possible, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
