Join us on Saturday 14th December dressed in your best festive gear, as we drop 45 metres (147 feet) "down the chimney" on the side of the Moda Building at Quarry Hill in Leeds! 

There will be a prize for the best fancy dress of the day!

PLEASE NOTE:

  • All those taking part must be over 16 on the day of the event
  • This event is run by Carnegie Great Outdoors, a leading provider of adventure activities, outdoor education, and leadership development programmes.
  • We are sharing this event with Children's Heart Surgery Fund. This will not affect where your fundraising will be used.
  • Due to taking part in December, the event may be postponed due to weather on the week or even the day of the event

By taking part in the Down the Chimney Abseil, you agree to pay a £25 registration fee and pledge to raise at least £150 sponsorship for Leeds Hospitals Charity to support Leeds Teaching Hospitals to make a real difference for patients, families and staff

How tall is the Moda Building?

The abseil is 45 metres (147 feet) high.

Is there an age limit?

The abseil is recommended as suitable for people age 16 and above on the day of the event.

Can I abseil with a friend?

Yes! There will be two ropes running simultaneously, so you and a friend can go down together - don't forget to smile at the same time for the camera!

Will there be instructors present?

Yes, this event is being organised by Carnegie Great Outdoors. 

Based at Leeds Beckett University, Carnegie Great Outdoors are a leading provider of adventure activities, outdoor education, and leadership development programmes. They have experience working with school and university groups, charities, and corporate clients across the UK and overseas.
