Thanks to funding received from the NHS Charities Together national Covid-19 appeal, Leeds Cares will be able to support several new projects during the pandemic.

A grant received at the end of April will fund:

A £25,000 investment into a Staff Hardship Fund for Leeds Teaching Hospitals, ensuring we can give financial support to staff members facing financial hardship because of the pandemic.

We’ll also be establishing a hardship fund (of £25,000)for patients and volunteers who are facing difficulties caused by the current crisis.

A £5,000 investment into the Florence Nightingale Foundation Leadership Programme – enabling nurses and midwives to access virtual leadership group support during the pandemic.

In addition, we’re continuing to fund the bedside TV and phone service for patients on all adult wards throughout May and June after feedback from both staff and patients revealed it had been a ‘lifeline’ when no visitors were allowed.
