"We are not dealing with problems and fixing them, we are preparing patients for what might happen in the future so they can decide how they want to manage this illness and they can decide what treatments and care they want."
To mark International Nurses Day, we’re celebrating some of the wonderful nurses working across Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Claire Lang is a Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Leeds Motor Neurone Disease Centre and has been supporting our Rob Burrow Centre for MND appeal since it launched in September.
Over the past ten years, referrals to the Leeds MND centre have doubled, with 40 new referrals each year.
For Claire and her team to continue to provide the best quality service, the team need access to facilities tailored to their patient's specific needs.
Claire supports patients from diagnosis and throughout their disease, she is passionate about supporting all aspects of the patient’s journey.
