  1. Apply for Funding

Chief Nurse's Fund

Education is one of our six funding priorities. We work in partnership with Leeds Teaching Hospital’s Corporate Nursing team to enable nurses, midwives and allied health professionals employed by Leeds Teaching Hospitals to access funding for training and development through the Chief Nurse Fund.

If you are a nurse, midwife or allied health professional you may be eligible for funding to attend a course or conference or study towards achieving a qualification. Use the button below to find out about eligibility for funding, the application process and how and when decisions are made.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals' Corporate Nursing team coordinate the decision making panels. The upcoming deadlines for applications are:

24th May 2022 - please apply using this form

1st September 2022 - please apply using this form

If you have any questions about the Chief Nurse Fund please contact: [email protected]

Meet Play Leader Joanne!

Every year, Leeds Hospitals Charity supports Leeds Teaching Hospitals with funding for their Chief Nurse Education Fund. This helps nurses, midwives and allied health professionals get help with the cost of training and qualifications.

Joanne, a Play Leader on ward 42 at Leeds Children’s Hospital, was recently awarded a grant from the Chief Nurse Education Fund to support her in completing a foundation degree. The degree will help her become a qualified play specialist, hopefully by August 2021.

“I have been a play leader for the Trust for over 14 years. I work alone as a play leader on the children's surgical ward and felt the time was right to get the play specialist qualification to improve the service I provide to my patients. I am very grateful for the funding I’ve received which will help to pay for this qualification.” - Joanne Philips
