A tech entrepreneur and an experienced management consultant are the latest Trustees to join the Board of Leeds Hospitals Charity.

Charlene Lyons joins the team after leaving her position as CEO of Black Sheep Brewery where she worked for nearly nine years. Charlene runs her own management consultancy business, supporting firms with strategy, business transformation and restructuring. She is also Vice Chair of Governors at The Grammar School at Leeds.

Charlene said “The NHS is an organisation very close to my heart and I’m incredibly proud to be joining the Board of Trustees at Leeds Hospitals Charity”.

Fellow new Trustee Lalit Suryawanshi also joined the board in August. Lalit is co-founder of digital health company Itecho Health. He has technology and digital transformation experience in many businesses across retail, health care and technology consulting.

Lalit joined the charity as he is passionate about how technology and innovation can make meaningful change in people’s lives.

Chair of the Board Dr Yvette Oade said “I’m delighted to welcome both Charlene and Lalit to the Leeds Hospitals Charity Board of Trustees, they will be a fantastic addition to our team. Both Trustees bring a wealth of business experience to the charity and will help to bring a fresh prospective on how we can do even more to help patients, families and staff at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.”
