Our funding priorities across Leeds Hospitals

We support NHS staff to deliver the best care for over a million patients and their families each year.

Working with local communities, schools and businesses, each year we provide over £3 million in additional funding to Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Generous donations and gifts left in Wills mean we can fund projects that help to:

Tackle health inequalities for patients in Leeds, in key areas such as cancer care and research, paediatric care and research, mental health, end of life care and care of older people.

Drive innovation in healthcare using new technologies

Why this focus?

We’re working hard with our partner Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to reduce inequalities in healthcare and ensure patients have access to the best healthcare and see improved outcomes.

We know that innovation in healthcare can help us achieve our goal to improve patient care through advancements in treatment and diagnoses, new medical equipment, or improvements to patient’s experience. Leeds is a great city with fantastic innovators, clinicians, and educators and by coming together we can give hope to families across Leeds, West Yorkshire and beyond.

Since the launch of our strategy, we’re proud to have provided over £20m of additional funding to Leeds Teaching Hospitals, taking the total over the past six years to over £50m. Additional funding has supported a wide range of projects from care packs for relatives of end of life patients, to cutting edge surgical equipment, specialist staff, research into the long-term effects of Covid and improvements to areas of the hospitals.
