Every penny donated helps to support the hard-working staff at our hospitals and enhance the experience of patients and their families. Our funding priorities Our change to Leeds Hospitals Charity: Frequently Asked Questions After two years of being Leeds Cares, we’ve made the decision to change our name to Leeds Hospitals Charity. We’ve put together a list of frequently asked questions to explain our name change in more detail. 1. Why did you change to Leeds Hospitals Charity? We’ve received feedback from our team, our partners and our NHS staff that the name ‘Leeds Cares’ didn’t do a great job of communicating our relationship with Leeds Teaching Hospitals, or explaining what happens with the money we raise. Changing to ‘Leeds Hospitals Charity’ means that the purpose of the charity will be crystal clear, even from one glance. 2. Is the charity now achieving different things? No - our mission continues to be to support Leeds hospitals in delivering the best care for patients and families. 3. Does the name of a charity make much of a difference? Yes, lots of charities undergo name changes based on feedback from their supporters. Having our purpose (supporting Leeds hospitals) in the title will make what we do instantly understandable and show exactly where donations go. We’re hoping that our name change will remove any confusion and any barriers to giving, helping us to grow and raise even more money to support Leeds Teaching Hospitals. 4. How much did the name change cost? The cost to this name change has been minimal, as we’re simply changing our working name, not having a rebrand. We’re keeping our purple and yellow branding, and our font and style are staying the same. We’ve been able to change all of our digital assets at no cost and will amend physical items as and when we need them. Like every charity, we’re determined to keep our running costs as low as possible so more money can be spent supporting patients, families and staff at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. 5. Haven't you changed names quite a bit over the years? We’ve had a couple of name changes over the years, but as we’ve changed, we’ve grown significantly. Our change to Leeds Hospitals Charity signifies our ambition to grow even further and make more of an impact in 2021 and beyond. 6. How can I get involved with Leeds Hospitals Charity this year? We’re glad you asked! Please visit our ‘Get Involved’ page to find out more. Get Involved
