Christine’s very busy professional life involves her in many aspects of property design through her company Christine Yorath Design.

After the sudden death of one of her four children in 1992 she became involved with Disabilities Trust who named one of their residences “Daniel Yorath House” after her late son and in 1993 she joined the board of Trustees and witnessed its huge national growth before retiring from the board in 2020 when she was awarded the position of Patron of DYH. Christine also has an interest in two other charities – Breast Cancer Haven, for whom she was on the capital fund raising committee, and the Cardiomyopathy Association, within which the Daniel Yorath Appeal has raised over £250k for the organisation and both of which give her an insight into how other charities work.

Christine hopes that her straightforward common-sense and practicality have a value to the Capital Appeal Board.
