As the official charity partner of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Leeds Hospitals Charity champions, supports, and gives thanks to your NHS. We make a real difference for the people and patients of Yorkshire by raising additional funds for life-saving equipment, treatments, research and even home comforts.

By becoming a Friend of Leeds Hospitals Charity, you can help our hospital teams to be their very best for your loved ones, when they need it most. Why not join us today?

Your monthly gift could help transform the lives of millions of local patients and families who use the hospitals every year. As well as helping to enhance the care that over 20,000 members of NHS staff already provides.

Twins in intesive care bed

Ivy and Billy

Twins Ivy and Billy were born at just 25 weeks’ old; they needed support with their breathing because their lungs were so small, so they stayed in intensive care on the neonatal unit. Ivy was also born with an eye disease that required laser surgery, while Billy developed two hernias that needed treatment.

Donations from people like you help to fund projects that make a real difference to the hospitals smallest patients like Ivy and Billy.

"It was exhausting watching my babies go through all of this and not being able to do anything for them, but the staff on the ward were our saving grace. They made me feel at ease at a really scary time in our lives.”

Laura's Story

Laura Mottram is a Neonatal Nursery Nurse and has worked on the Neonatal Unit since 2013. One of the most important things for Laura and the team is to ensure that families and their babies have a comfortable and relaxing environment to help reduce anxiety for both babies and their loved ones.

Thanks to donations from people like you they have been able to hold special events such as the ‘kangaroo-a-thon’ which builds on developing a close and loving relationship between parents and their baby. Donations have also helped transform the hospital environment, funding a new parent kitchen, a twin cot so that twins like Billy and Ivy can stay close together, and the creation of the inspiring ‘Corridors of Courage’ with positive stories for new parents on the unit with their poorly babies.

But we need to provide more, and we can only do it with your help.

“Without the support from Leeds Hospitals Charity, the staff, patients, and families experience on the unit would be dramatically different. The impact of generous funding is immeasurable, and we are forever grateful of all the support offered by our fantastic charity.”
Laura told us how donations enable her team to make a real difference for babies and their families
