Welcome to our quarterly update

As we welcome a new year and reflect on the final months of 2025, we want to say a huge thank you to our amazing corporate partners for their continued support. From fundraising events and volunteering to generous donations and thoughtful initiatives, your efforts these past few months have made a real difference for patients, families and our wonderful staff across Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

Here are a just some of the highlights from a busy and inspiring few months:

Our Partner Highlights

A big thank you to Gallaghers

Gallaghers once again showed incredible commitment to Leeds Hospitals Charity by hosting their annual insurers’ quiz night. This event raised an amazing £2,600, which was match-funded to £5,200.

Across 2025, Gallaghers donated a phenomenal £11,500, and we are hugely grateful for their ongoing generosity, enthusiasm and support.

Their donation allows us to direct funds to where the need is greatest across our hospitals. This includes projects such as wigs for cancer patients, wellbeing trolleys that support patient comfort, and our Patient Volunteering Fund, which helps enhance care and experiences across Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

These are just a few examples of the vital projects made possible thanks to Gallaghers’ amazing fundraising efforts.

Aston Martin brings thrills to Leeds Children’s Hospital

We were delighted to welcome Aston Martin Aramco to Leeds Children's Hospital as part of a special visit for the second year in a row, with Leeds being one of just five hospitals selected nationwide.

The F1 team brought along a life-sized car which our young patients and families were incredibly excited about. The team engaged with patients, their families and staff during the visit. They also hosted a design your own drivers suit competition which received lots of incredible designs.  Working with such an amazing partner helps to create unforgettable moments for the lives of young patients and we are truly grateful for Aston Martin Aramco wonderful support.

Huge thanks to Kim and Debbie at Aston Martin Aramco for providing a money can’t buy tour which was auctioned at the Children’s Ball in September and raised £2,600 which will help to continue the funding for the incredible play team at Leeds Children’s Hospital.

The Square Ball: A Leeds United Podcast

Andy Roberts and Kevin McKenna recently joined our friends at The Square Ball on their podcast to discuss all things Leeds United but also to celebrate their amazing support.

Their 2025 calendar raised £7,500 for Leeds Hospitals Charity in support of Leeds Cancer Centre and Breast Cancer Research Action Group.

We keep marching on together with the brilliant team at The Square Ball and their incredible supporters.

Thank you!

A bit of Christmas Magic:

Children’s Hospital Toy Drop

December saw a massive outpour of support as thousands of gifts were donated to Leeds Children's Hospital by businesses and corporate partners across West Yorkshire.

Because of you, children spending time in hospital during the Christmas period were met with smiles, surprises and joy. We are so grateful to everyone who took part and helped make this festive period a little brighter for our youngest patients.

Huge thanks to Gallaghers, Brenntag, NECS/HRMC, First Bus, Network Rail, CDC Draincare, Jewsons, DLA Piper and many more amazing business who collected and delivered toys during December.

The power of volunteering:

Mobile Phones for A&E

A huge thank you to KONE and DLA Piper, whose teams volunteered their time to help prepare over 120 mobile phones to give to some of our most vulnerable patients who frequently attend A&E.

By helping to set up sim cards and essential contact numbers, over 120 phones can now be used to keep patients connected and supported when they need it the most. Thank you for your care and commitment.

We are looking for more corporate teams to volunteer for this project so please contact [email protected] to find out how you can get involved.

Thank you & Farewell to our Partners

As we move into a new year, we would like to say a fond farewell to some wonderful partners.

Lovell Homes

Our two-year partnership with Lovell Homes came to an end in December. During this time, they helped raise over £18,000 for the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) through events including a five-a-side football tournament and two golf days.

A special thank you to Jan Walker for working so closely with us and helping make the partnership such a success.

DLA Piper Leeds

We would also like to say a goodbye to DLA Piper Leeds, our Charity of the Year Partner for 2025. Thanks to the dedication of Lucy-Ann Nettleton and her colleagues, an incredible £25,500 was raised for the Rob Burrow Centre for MND.

From fun quizzes and raffles to the outstanding effort of Ben Howarth, who ran seven marathons on seven days, their support has been truly inspiring. We wish you all the very best as you support Martin House in 2026.

Mr Su’s

Finally, a big thank you to Jimmy and the team at Mr Su’s, who raised £8,800 through meal sales between July 2024 and July 2025.

We are so grateful for your support and wish you every success with your new charity partner.

Get Involved: What’s Coming Up

Looking ahead in 2026, there are plenty of ways for corporates to get involved through fundraising, awareness days and team activities, including:

Children’s Mental Health Week (9-15 February)

This week shines the spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health, helping to start conversations and reduce stigma. With your support, we can help our teams create welcoming, supportive environments for children receiving care. You could invite colleagues to take part in a ‘take a break’ challenge, whether that’s a lunchtime walk, mindfulness session or screen free hour. You could also host a quiz focused on positive mental health.

World Kidney Day (12 March)

This important day raises awareness of kidney health and the vital work carried out by specialist teams supporting patients with kidney disease. Funds raised help improve patient care and wellbeing. You could help organise a step or walking challenge for the day or week, encouraging teams to get moving while raising sponsorship.

Important Health Days

During the next few months, we are highlighting some important health care days that might inspire you to support patients or assist in making some positive changes.

February

Valentine’s Day (14 Feb) is an amazing opportunity to celebrate kindness, connection and care to those around you. Values that are at the heart of everything we do across our hospitals. Take a moment to show appreciation to those that make a difference in your life.

Rare Disease Day (28 Feb) raises awareness of the challenges faced by patients living with rare conditions.

March

International Women’s Day (8 March) is a chance to celebrate women’s achievements while raising awareness of the health challenges many women face.
