Application Window: Monthly from 29 April 2026 - 1 March 2027

Proposals should aim to improve someone’s experience of care or work.

Moments That Matter

The Moments That Matter funding call is now open to support small, meaningful projects between £75 and £2,500 that improve someone’s experience of care or work by creating a moment that matters. This might be a moment of comfort, dignity, calm, connection or joy.

We’re looking for simple but powerful ideas that make a noticeable difference to patients, families or staff, and can be delivered quickly, such as comfort packs, toys, sensory items, or resources that support compassionate, person-centred care. Practical items that reduce stress or enhance dignity, like spare clothing or specialist comfort equipment, are also other examples.

Have a different idea? We'd love to hear it!

Projects must go above and beyond standard NHS provision and be the kind of human impact stories we’d proudly share with donors.

Deadlines run monthly from 4 May 2026 to 1 March 2027, with panels held 10 days later.

Exclusions

We cannot accept applications for:

  • Recreational away days.
  • Office supplies, equipment, technology or furniture.
  • Awards ceremonies, celebration events or staff parties.
  • Education, training, learning or conference attendance that is a requirement of an individual’s role, NHS person specification or professional registration.
  • Small items for staff rooms as you can apply through the Staff Welfare & Amenities Fund .
