Charity funding provides care packs for patients with learning disabilities

Thanks to your donations, we've been able to help the Learning Disabilities and Autism team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust launch a pilot scheme to provide adult patients with learning disabilities or autism who visit the hospital's emergency departments with care packs.

There have already been nearly 100 bags handed out to patients, which contain items to help navigate what can be a stress environment in the busy accident and emergency waiting areas.

"Staff are saying that they love giving the bags out, they love talking through the bags and the items in the bags with the patients, they really see the difference they're making in the department."
