We spoke to Darren about why he’s decided to Run for Rob at the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2023.

“I’ve always been a Leeds Rhinos fan and watched Rob play at Headingley for many years. I didn’t know what MND was until Rob went public with his diagnosis, and his story inspired me to do my bit and fundraise.

“Over the past couple of years, I’ve held charity football matches to raise funds for MND charities, and Rob’s family have always come along to support us!

“This marathon is one step up for me – I’ve only ever done the Leeds 10k before! It will be tough but it’s nothing compared to what Rob and his family have been through, my mum is battling cancer at the moment too so I want to do it for her as well."
