Today is International Nurses Day, and we’re putting the spotlight on some of the wonderful nurses working across Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Lejla Gredelj is Ward Manager on the Leeds Children's Hospital Liver and Renal Unit (ward L50), caring for children and young people with liver, kidney and gut health conditions.
The team on ward L50, provide specialist care to children and their loved ones, and Lejla is committed to improving the hospital experience for families who often spend weeks on the ward following treatment or transplant, before their child is well enough to return home.
Lejla tells us how donations make a difference:
“We are so lucky to have such committed fundraising and donations by our patients, families and friends. The funds raised and donated help some of the sickest children in the region. The money donated also helps us fund Quality Improvement Projects which directly improve patient care and the experience of their hospital admission.”
