"I’m Rhiannon and this is my little boy Roman, he’s almost two and full of beans! Last year, Roman and I joined the Leeds Parks Challenge to raise some money for the hospital that has done so much for us. This year we’re getting involved again, and I’d like to tell you why...

Roman has spent most of his life in four walls, either inside the hospital or at home because of the coronavirus pandemic.

He was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease when he was just 11 days old, and since then we’ve spent at lot of time at Leeds Children’s Hospital.

Roman has been really poorly over the past year, he’s still waiting for a kidney transplant and we’re relying on dialysis to keep him alive.

The past couple of years have been so tough, but they would have been even harder without the incredible support from the amazing staff at Leeds Children’s Hospital.

I cried literally every day we were in hospital, but the staff were always there to lift my spirits and have a laugh with me!
