Volunteering Strategy 2021-2026

Our volunteers are an integral part of the Leeds Hospitals Charity team, who inspire and motivate us every single day.

They raise significant funds, represent us at events and around our hospitals, support our office and retail functions, and enhance the profile of Leeds Hospitals Charity across the community.

To date volunteering at Leeds Hospitals Charity has been incredibly valuable even whilst operating on a small scale. Over the next five years we look forward to building a large and diverse team of volunteers that will support us across our hospitals and in the community. They will include volunteers who are looking to give back to our NHS, who would like to meet new people, experience new and exciting opportunities, and who are aiming to build and share valuable skills.

We must recognise that the landscape of volunteering is changing, just as the world around us has changed due to the pandemic. Volunteers are looking for opportunities that offer greater flexibility and that fit with their lifestyle. Increasingly volunteers want modern and meaningful experiences that open doorways to future opportunities. We will strive to deliver this experience to volunteers that are choosing to give us the gift of their time.

There should be no barriers to volunteering for your local NHS charity and so finally – and importantly – volunteering with Leeds Hospitals Charity must be reflective of the city and communities we all live in.
