Leeds Hospitals Charity on The Square Ball Podcast

We joined The Square Ball podcast to discuss charity calendars, cancer innovations and Leeds United beating Chelsea at home

We were delighted to be invited on Leeds United fanzine The Square Ball's podcast this week.

Corporate Partnerships Officer Kevin and Content Manager Andy - both Leeds United fans - sat down with hosts Dan Moylan and Michael Normanton to talk about this year's annual charity calendar and the impact funds raised have had at Leeds Cancer Centre. There was even opportunity to enjoy a rare Premier League win for Leeds at the expense of world champions Chelsea!

A winning partnership

The Square Ball have supported Leeds Hospitals Charity with a series of fundraising activities since 2013, through raffles, merchandise sales and sponsored walk. In that time they have raised over £65,000.

In 2018, they launched their charity calendar, with all profits donated to Leeds Hospitals Charity in support of Leeds Cancer Centre and Breast Cancer Research Action Group. Calendar sales have grown each year, with the 2025 edition raising £7,500. The calendars have raised £20,000 in total.

A big impact

One of the projects funded thanks to proceeds from the calendar sales has been Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT). This innovative piece of equipment uses body mapping to provide more accurate and safe radiotherapy, and removes the need for permanent tattoos on a patient's body.
