Tattoo-less Radiotherapy Transforms Cancer Care

Thanks to £600,000 from our generous supporters, Leeds Cancer Centre now offers tattoo-less radiotherapy using Surface Guided Radiotherapy technology.

This advanced system allows more than 1,800 breast cancer patients each year to receive more accurate and compassionate treatment without permanent skin markings.

Patients like Leanne have already noticed the difference, saying she is grateful for care that focuses on precision, comfort and dignity. This innovation is redefining patient-centred care in Leeds.

Honouring Toby Through Meaningful Change

We are deeply grateful to the Tobias Crowther Foundation, who have donated over £11,000 in memory of Toby to support patients in Neuro Critical Care.

Their generosity has funded two specialist chairs that will help some of the most vulnerable patients begin early rehabilitation after brain injury, improving comfort and outcomes. Toby’s family shared how proud they were to give back to the team who cared for him, and their kindness will continue to make a real difference for others.

Helping Tiny Hearts Beat Stronger – Reenie-May’s Story

When Reenie-May was born with a hole in her heart, her family feared she would need open-heart surgery. Thankfully, surgeons were able to repair it using keyhole surgery guided by ultrasound imaging, allowing her to return home the very next day.

We now hope to fund a new £150,000 ultrasound system with a specialist 3D probe, designed for the tiniest patients. This technology will transform heart surgery for hundreds of babies and children across Yorkshire, helping them recover faster and thrive.
