Proposals should aim to develop a new way of doing something that could enhance patient experience or outcomes.

Leeds Hospitals Charity is making available £56,000 to support innovation at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The maximum grant available is £10,000 and we are looking for a range of projects and initiatives of varying value from £75 to £10,000 that will have a direct impact on patients treated and cared for at Leeds Teaching Hospitals within the next 5 years.

We’re interested in receiving applications that relate to a new way of doing something that has the potential to enhance patient experience or patient outcomes. This could include developing your own idea for a piece of software, a piece of equipment or evaluating a new technology or innovation within clinical practice.

Proposals that have the potential for wider implementation across several specialties, CSUs and/or patient groups are welcomed.

We will prioritise projects that seek to tackle and reduce health inequalities. Health inequalities are causing significant challenges for patients here in Leeds and mean NHS teams are having to think about new approaches to improve overall patient experiences and outcomes including earlier diagnosis, increased accessibility or enhanced and shorter treatment models.

We’re particularly interested in projects that focus on reducing inequalities in the following areas:

  • Women’s health
  • Children
  • Cancer
  • Older people
  • End of life care
  • Mental health
  • Cardiovascular
  • Transplantation
