We were interested in receiving applications that:

  • Improved the experience of patients treated and cared for at Leeds Teaching Hospitals
  • Will lead to enhanced service delivery and/ or improved clinical outcomes within a 12-18-month timeframe.
  • Demonstrated patient involvement in the development of a project.

The funding opportunity was open to all staff at Leeds Teaching Hospitals across all Clinical Service Units and Departments within both medical and non-medical roles, including staff employed by academic partners who hold an honorary contract with Leeds Teaching Hospitals.


Overview:

  • We received a total of 34 applications for the Q3 Patient Experience Funding Call
  • In January 2025 a total of 19 applications were approved by the Small Grants Panel totaling £86,114.74 with the potential to impact directly and indirectly 62,552 beneficiaries including patients, families and staff.
  • The funding awarded supported 4 of the Funding Priorities: Education, Environment and Equipment and Health and Wellbeing.
  • The projects align with seven different impact areas of focus: Health Inequalities - Care of Older People, Women’s Health, Paediatric Care, Cancer Care, Treatment of Rare Conditions, Cardiovascular Care and Mental Health 
  • All projects approved as part of the Q3 Patient Experience Funding Call will be completed by 31st July 2026
  • 34 applications received across 16 Clinical Service Units
