The ultrasound scanner would help give our patients peace of mind.

The NHS is stretched, and unfortunately it can sometimes take longer than we would like to get a scan and then get your test results back.

This can make it extremely difficult for patients to try and get on with ‘normal’ everyday-to-day life while waiting. Melanoma affects all age, genders, and races.

“Many of my patients also work full-time and have families who rely on them. They are living in constant fear that their cancer could come back and disrupt their life once again. With your support, we can do something about this. Your gift today can help reduce the anxious wait time by almost 50% for melanoma patients.”

In one appointment, staff will be able to tell patients whether they need to come in for further treatment or not. No more agonising weeks waiting by the phone. This will have a massive impact on their health and wellbeing.

What is an ultrasound scanner (USS)?

A high-resolution ultrasound scanner gives doctors a detailed image of lymph nodes (glands), which may be difficult for a doctor to feel, but which may be involved with the melanoma.

The ultrasound scanner would help give our patients peace of mind. They would be able to know more quickly if their cancer has returned or spread.
